Wetted Salt Program with Calcium Chloride
A mixture of rock salt & a 32% solution of calcium chloride combine the economy of rock salt with the superior effectiveness of calcium chloride to provide snow & ice melting properties at a low cost.
Advantages of Wetted Salt:

degrees F
· Overall salt usage is often reduced by more than 25%

The control of ice and hard packed snow on local streets in many jurisdictions involves the use of road salt. Road salt is relatively effective in melting ice and snow at temperatures above 20 degrees Fahrenheit. It is relatively ineffective at temperatures below 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Theoretically, salt is totally ineffective when temperatures fall below zero. When salting operations are carried out below 20 degrees, the melting action is slow and it becomes "necessary" to re-salt the area already covered. The feeling that additional applications are necessary develops from the idea that "more will be better", whereas the deicing action is still slow. While the improvement in deicing action is very limited, the undesirable effects of vegetation damage and vehicle rust are increased substantially.
RAYCOR ® conforms to PNS [Pacific Northwest Snow Fighters]specifications, can be used in a variety of applications, and is extremely effective as pre-wet for ice control and as an ad-mix in the concrete mixing process. RAYCOR ® is environmentally friendly and, because of its anti-corrosive value, is less likely to have a negative impact on roads and vehicles.
